Lois is Nominated for a Nebula
Much belatedly, noting that Lois Tilton is a finalist for the Nebula Award for Best Novelette for The Gladiator's War: A Dialogue, which appeared in Asimov's last year.

Regrettably, Lois did not contribute to the volume referenced above and available here. However, as profits will go to the Emergency Medical Fund of the Science Fiction Writers of America, for which she was a Regional Director, we are happy to provide this link.

Lois Would Like This, Were She Here...
This morning's SF Chronicle had a review of the DVD of Troy. " Despite their worthiness, an undertone of sadness pervades Troy, as if the people know that 3,000 years later the Greeks will still be a nation, while they will be a brand of contraceptives." The reviewer seems to feel that it's a perfectly swell adventure pic, but not a patch on the source story.
I imagine Lois, were she here, would pronounce both the review and the film stoopid.
